About
FileZilla® transfers files between a local computer and a remote server through FTP, SFTP, or FTPS, giving users a direct way to publish, retrieve, and organize server content. On MacOS, it is published by Tim Kosse as a fast, cross-platform FTP client, with support also extending to Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and other systems.
Its directory comparison places local files alongside the corresponding server directory, helping users identify differences and manage synchronization. Users can keep several server connections open in tabs, switch between them, and transfer files to multiple servers at the same time. FileZilla also lets users edit files stored on a server while working in an active connection.
The client suits site administrators, developers, and other people who maintain remote directories, publish project assets, or exchange files with hosted systems. Its transfer controls and session tabs support recurring file-management tasks without requiring separate tools for each server connection. FileZilla is available in 47 languages worldwide and is distributed as open-source software. Its category is internet-and-browsers, and its combination of FTP, SFTP, and FTPS support distinguishes it for servers using different transfer methods.
