Finbar1.22

Press Finbar’s assigned hot key to search Mac menu items from a native command palette instead of navigating nested menus manually. Fuzzy filtering, recently selected items, and rule-based filtering help you reach commands with minimal typing while retaining the speed of the menu bar. Finbar remembers every menu item you choose, building a list of favorites that remains relevant across launches and adapts when dynamic menu titles change.

Selecting a menu item with child entries lets you narrow the search and continue within that section. List mode flattens the entire menu bar and orders results by match score, while Outline mode filters it in place and preserves menu order and hierarchy for contextual browsing. Menu bar scoping lets you select a container and search only its hierarchy, and keyboard navigation can reach complex menu structures without using the mouse.

Rules created through the Mac rule-editing interface can hide irrelevant items, while shell scripts and AppleScript files placed in a designated folder are automatically integrated as custom menu items. Classic themes can be selected, or a new appearance can be built from scratch. Finbar also shows each item’s assigned hot key and provides a quick view of its current state.

Version 1.22 is freeware in the Productivity category for macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with support for both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. Built with Apple’s AppKit framework, it is intended for Mac users who frequently work with applications containing large, changing, or deeply nested menus.
