Finicky4.2.2

Finicky routes each link to a browser chosen by your own rules instead of sending every URL to the same application. Set it as macOS’s default browser, then direct sites such as Bluesky or Reddit to one browser and LinkedIn or Google Meet to another. Its rules can match URLs with regular expressions and custom functions, supporting detailed routing for different domains, paths, or link patterns.

The app can rewrite addresses before opening them, including forcing HTTPS or removing tracking parameters, and it can launch browsers or other applications that handle URLs. One configuration can coordinate multiple browsers and apps, making it practical to keep work and personal browsing separate. Chrome and Firefox extensions add an “open with Finicky” command to links, while Alt-clicking a link sends it through Finicky directly. Starting Finicky from Applications, Spotlight, Alfred, or Raycast opens its configuration and troubleshooting window when you need to adjust those rules.

Finicky fits Mac users who regularly switch browsers for privacy, work accounts, site compatibility, or separate browsing contexts, and it is a System Tools utility rather than a graphical browser picker. Version 4.2.2 runs on macOS 12 Monterey or later and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. It is freeware, with no paid tier or subscription described.
