FLEXOPTIX App connects to a FLEXBOX and lets you configure transceivers without a cable connection to the unit. It runs on macOS as a System Tools utility for Apple Silicon Macs (arm64), with version 5.68.0-latest available as freeware. Supported FLEXBOX models are FB-02, FB-03, FO.FB.V4, and FO.FB.5.

The configuration workflow covers SFP+, QSFP+, SFP28, QSFP28, QSFP-DD, OSFP, AOC, DAC, and optical patch cables, including universal AOC, DAC, ACC, and AEC transceiver types designed for nearly every device. The locally installed app requires a stable internet connection continuously while running, and it checks for and installs its own updates automatically. Network technicians, data-center teams, and hardware integrators can use it when identifying, configuring, or testing optical and direct-attach modules through a FLEXBOX.

For dependable detection, connect the FLEXBOX to a computer’s USB port with a data-capable cable and verify that the operating system recognizes it without device errors. If it is absent or reports problems, trying another USB port or computer, preferably with administrator rights, helps distinguish a host issue from a damaged FLEXBOX. A powered USB 3 hub, direct computer connection, or FLEXBOX MOBILITY PACK set to Off or USB can address power problems; unpowered hubs and long USB extensions should be avoided.

Power issues can cause detection failures, disconnections, or crashes when a transceiver is inserted or the laser is enabled in Power Meter & Source. If the driver reports “Device not migrated,” install the latest firmware for the system and restart after first connecting the FLEXBOX or installing its drivers.
