Flutter is an open-source SDK for building, testing, and deploying applications from a single codebase. It is intended for developers who want to create applications using Dart, which is included with the SDK. On Linux, Flutter is available in the Developer Tools category.
Flutter compiles applications to native ARM or x64 machine code and supports performance targets of 60 or 120 frames per second. Stateful Hot Reload lets developers see code changes in milliseconds during development. The SDK also provides pixel-level control through Material 3 and Cupertino widgets.
Projects can target iOS, Android, the web, Linux, macOS, and Windows. Flutter can be extended with open-source packages available through pub.dev. From Linux, developers can build for Android, Linux, and the web, while iOS and macOS builds require a macOS host and Windows builds require Windows.
After installation, running flutter doctor checks the development setup. MirrorNest stores the official Linux build directly on its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing.
