Choose the language that matches the episode to improve transcription quality, then import an audio file. The app handles many audio formats, including MP3; if a particular file is unsupported, users can report it to the developers. Processing may take several minutes depending on the device and episode length, and the application must remain open until the operation finishes. Once the text is generated, users can review it and make minor corrections before publishing.

Publishing creates a URL for the completed transcript, which can be inserted into a podcast’s RSS feed with the <podcast:transcript /> tag specified by PodcastIndex. Spreaker processes the audio on the device rather than sending the MP3 to a server, keeping the transcription workflow local.
