About
GitLab CLI (glab) is an open-source command-line tool for GitLab on Linux. It brings GitLab tasks into the terminal, alongside Git commands and the code being worked on. It is intended for developers who use GitLab repositories and prefer to manage related work without switching between terminal sessions, browser tabs, or other windows.
The tool supports viewing, managing, and retrying CI/CD pipelines from the command line. It can also create changelogs and create or manage releases. These functions provide terminal access to several common activities around GitLab projects.
glab supports issues and merge requests, and it can be used to ask GitLab Duo Chat questions about Git. It also includes commands for managing GitLab agents for Kubernetes. The tool works with repositories hosted on GitLab.com, GitLab Dedicated, and GitLab Self-Managed.
Multiple authenticated GitLab instances are supported. In a working Git directory, glab can detect the authenticated GitLab hostname from the available repository remotes.
