Read Hacker News stories, articles, and discussions from an Android phone with Kiosk, a reader built around the service’s content rather than general web browsing. It keeps feeds, article text, and comments close together, making it practical for following news and conversations while mobile. The app offers the Top, New, Best, Ask, Show, and Jobs feeds, along with search for older Hacker News stories.

Stories in the current feed can be read in sequence by swiping between them. Opening comments brings them into a bottom sheet, so the discussion stays within the reading flow. Articles appear in a native reader based on Mozilla Readability, with selectable themes and fonts for adjusting their presentation. Speed Reader and Read Aloud offer alternative ways to consume article text, while article images support expansion and pinch-to-zoom.

PDFs, X/Twitter pages, YouTube links, and other external destinations can be sent to the device’s default app or browser. Kiosk is open-source Android software in the Communication category, supports Android 8.0 and later on arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86, and uses no account; it also contains no ads, analytics, tracking SDKs, Firebase, Crashlytics, or Google Play Services dependency. Version 0.1.1 fixes jitter when scrolling the comment sheet and updates the adaptive-layout and networking dependencies.
