Krita5.3.4.1

Krita lets artists create digital paintings and illustrations with a canvas built for detailed brushwork, from an initial sketch through a finished image. It addresses the need for a serious art studio for concept art, illustration, matte painting, texture work, and visual-effects production.

Its workspace combines customizable brushes with layers, selections, transformations, masks, filters, and color-management controls for arranging and refining artwork. Animation tools can record drawing sessions and timelapses, while the recorder can render those results as video on Android. These capabilities make Krita useful to professional artists, illustrators, concept designers, texture artists, and hobbyists developing finished images or production assets.

The Krita Foundation publishes this free, open-source software as the Windows x64 version 5.3.4.1, and it runs on Windows 8.1 or later and Server 2012 R2 or later. The current release includes fixes for recorder exports with missing frames, opening large EXR files, layer-thumbnail scaling with display scaling, and a rare crash during new-image creation. It also adds Android video export improvements for recorded animations and timelapses, alongside broader bug fixes and interface icon work. The GIMP XCF import plugin has been removed because its unmaintained third-party library had security problems, so XCF files are no longer handled through that plugin.
