Moshidon

Read, compose, and manage Mastodon conversations with added controls for timelines, posts, media, and notifications. Moshidon is a modified version of the official Mastodon Android app that fills in features absent from the standard client, making it useful for people who want more control over everyday Fediverse activity.

Its interface supports Material You styling alongside many colorful theme choices, while filtered posts can remain visible behind a warning. A translate button and a language picker for toots help users handle posts in different languages. Unlisted posting lets users publish publicly without placing a post in trends, hashtags, or public timelines.

The federated timeline displays public posts from people across the other Fediverse neighborhoods connected to the user’s home instance. An image description viewer quickly shows whether an image or video includes alt text, and profile pinning lets users highlight important posts and view other accounts’ pinned posts in a dedicated tab. Following hashtags brings matching new posts into the home timeline, while follow requests can be accepted or declined from notifications or a separate request list.

Delete-and-redraft provides an editing-like workflow without an actual editing function, and additional interface refinements include interaction icons in Notifications and the removal of several original UI annoyances. Moshidon is open-source for Android 6.0 or later and uses a Universal architecture. Version 2.3.0+fork.110.moshinda fixes timeline loading with some newer Mastodon servers and includes smaller fixes and improvements.
