Multipass

Multipass is an open-source developer tool for Linux that launches and manages virtual machines. It provides an on-demand Ubuntu environment designed to simulate a cloud setting on a developer’s native platform. It is intended for developers who need separate Ubuntu instances for development and testing.

Users can launch instances by name, with the current Ubuntu LTS provided by default. Multipass can run commands inside an instance, including commands that inspect its Ubuntu release.
