Olvid

Olvid is an open-source communication application for Android. It is designed for conversations in which users control who they connect with and who can contact them. The application does not require a phone number or email address, and it does not request access to the device’s address book.

Users can invite other Olvid users either in person or remotely. Olvid does not automatically add new contacts, and users do not receive unsolicited messages or messages from unknown sources. Its communication uses end-to-end encryption and end-to-end authentication by default for everything sent or received.

The application supports groups for families, friends, and key collaborators. It contains no spam or advertising, while contact selection and communication remain under the user’s control. Its cryptographic engine is based on several years of research and is intended to establish the integrity, confidentiality, and anonymity of communications mathematically.
