OpenCamera Sensors1.48.3.1

OpenCamera Sensors records video together with accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer data, assigning video frames and sensor samples timestamps from the same clock. It can coordinate recording across multiple smartphones with sub-millisecond timing, making the resulting streams suitable for precise analysis. Advanced camera controls let users capture synchronized material for 3D reconstruction, SLAM, augmented reality, and video stabilization projects.

The app also supports remote control over a network, so a collection of phones can be operated as a coordinated capture system. Researchers, robotics developers, computer-vision practitioners, and filmmakers can use it when camera footage must be aligned with motion data or with recordings from other viewpoints. Synchronization is exposed through the camera and IMU recording features rather than being limited to ordinary standalone video capture.

OpenCamera Sensors requires full Camera2 API support, and synchronized camera-to-IMU timestamps are unavailable on some otherwise compatible devices; the relevant support status can be checked in the app’s preferences. It runs on Android 4.4 or later, uses a universal architecture, and is distributed as open-source software. The project builds on Open Camera’s camera controls and regularly incorporates its updates, helping it adapt to newer smartphones and camera APIs.

Version 1.48.3.1 adds RecSync, which provides synchronized video recording on multiple smartphones. Its current Android release is therefore suited to both single-device sensor capture and multi-phone experiments requiring tightly aligned recordings.
