OpenCode lets you ask an AI coding agent to write and run code directly in a project, reducing the work involved in implementing features, investigating errors, and testing changes. The agent can connect to any AI model from any provider, including Claude, GPT, Gemini, and locally run models, with access to more than 75 providers through Models.dev. Free models are included, while Zen offers a handpicked selection of models tested and benchmarked specifically for coding-agent work. OpenCode automatically loads the appropriate language-server protocols for the language model, giving sessions language-aware coding capabilities.

Developers can run multiple agent sessions in parallel on the same project, which suits tasks such as exploring alternatives, handling separate bugs, or reviewing changes concurrently. Each session can also produce a shareable link for reference or collaborative debugging.
