PidCat is an open-source logcat viewer for Windows. It is an enhanced version of a tool originally created by Jake Wharton for the Android Open Source Project. The program is intended for people who need to inspect Android log output while working from a Windows system.
PidCat can filter logcat messages by application package name, helping users focus on output from a particular app. It supports advanced tag filtering with substring matching for more targeted searches. VT100 color support adds color to the displayed output, making different parts of the log easier to distinguish. Improved column formatting presents log information in a clearer Windows-optimized layout.
As a Windows application, PidCat fits the developer-tools category by providing a focused interface for viewing and filtering Android logs. MirrorNest distributes the official build directly from its own storage. The mirrored file is scanned for malware before publication.
