Reverb continuously captures microphone audio on Android and keeps its rolling buffer on disk, so recent sound remains available after an app restart instead of existing only in temporary memory. Users set how long recordings should be retained and how much storage the recorder may occupy. Saved recordings can be played back, renamed, deleted, moved, or exported as WAV files; export streams the audio data rather than loading the entire recording into memory.

The recorder exposes audio format, sample rate, recording source, audio route, and channel controls within the options supported by the device’s hardware. A capture visualization provides a visual view of the incoming recording, while the audio settings allow the capture setup to be adapted to different Android devices and routes.

Reverb suits Android users who need ongoing audio capture and want to organize recordings after they are made, such as for monitoring, field work, or retaining recent spoken material. Continuous microphone capture uses battery power, and Reverb reduces its activity when the capture screen is not visible, with the resulting effect varying by device. It includes no ads, trackers, accounts, or network access.

The current 0.1.0 release is the initial Reverb release, introducing a modern Material 3 interface, disk-backed rolling audio recovery, streamed WAV export, recording playback and management, configurable hardware settings, capture visualization, and strengthened recorder buffers and onboarding. It is open-source Music & Audio software for Android 9 and later, with arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 support.
