rsend sends selected folders from a phone to one or more home SSH hosts, moving data outward with rsync over SSH rather than synchronizing changes back to the device. It suits backups of DCIM, WhatsApp media, call recordings, and other folders you choose, with transfers running periodically or started on demand.

Each source folder can point to a named remote, allowing different folders to use different destination hosts, and can follow either an additive backup policy or a mirror policy that applies deletions to the destination. Transfers are incremental, so content already sent is skipped, and large videos can resume from a private partial directory. The rsync program and SSH transport are built from source and included in the APK. Authentication uses Ed25519 client keys, while strict pinned host-key verification checks the expected SSH host, and scheduled operation uses an unmetered network by default.

Because backup locations such as OEM call-recording directories can sit outside standard, limited-access media folders, rsend requires all-files access. It is open-source and runs on Android 11 or later, supporting arm64-v8a and x86_64 devices.

Version 0.2.1 updates the schedule immediately when its first folder is added or its last folder removed, prevents the dashboard from stalling while reading its state, and preserves the folder picker’s position after rotation. Configurations exceeding rsend’s limits are now reported instead of crashing the editor, with no change to file-transfer behavior.
