Saber1.37.1

Write, draw, and organize handwritten notes with Saber, a notes app designed to keep digital pen input simple while preserving useful tools for study and everyday work. Notes synchronize across devices of different sizes, so work started on a large screen remains available on smaller devices. In dark mode, Saber can invert handwritten notes so white ink appears on a black background, and it also inverts embedded images and PDFs for more comfortable reading in dim classrooms or other low-light settings.

A dual-password system protects stored notes even from someone with complete control of the server. Notes can be kept on the official Saber server, on another server, or on infrastructure you host yourself, while the open-source code allows its data handling to be inspected; the Linux edition is released under an open-source license. Its highlighter uses canvas compositing to handle overlapping strokes consistently, preserving color and keeping highlighted multi-line equations readable instead of washing out the writing beneath them.

Students, professionals, and creative users can arrange notebooks in folders nested to any depth, then reach recent notes directly from the home screen even when those notes are buried in the folder structure.
