SmsMatrix forwards SMS conversations into Matrix and carries replies back to their phone contacts as text messages. For each new conversation, its Matrix bot creates a private one-to-one room and posts incoming SMS messages there. The bridge uses a Matrix homeserver account configured with the bot username, bot password, homeserver URL, destination Matrix username, and an API device name.
