Snore Detector monitors sleep in real time, identifies snoring, and records each detected event for later review. It evaluates sound with several digital signal-processing methods, including decibel level, RMS power, Zero-Crossing Rate, spectral energy in the 100 Hz–1 kHz snore band, and low-frequency spectral analysis. Sensitivity can be adjusted, and individual detection algorithms can be enabled or disabled to suit different sleeping environments.

The local event history records timestamps, durations, peak volume, and confidence values for every detection. Optional short WAV recordings let users replay captured snoring moments, while CSV export supports personal analysis or sharing results with healthcare professionals. The app suits people investigating their own nighttime breathing sounds, as well as those collecting observations during repeated overnight monitoring.

Audio is processed entirely on the device and never leaves it; the app works offline without cloud services, tracking, telemetry, analytics, advertisements, external servers, or proprietary SDKs, and it requires only permissions for audio monitoring and background operation. Its interface uses Kotlin, Jetpack Compose with Material 3 light and dark themes, a Room database, Kotlin Coroutines with StateFlow, and Android AudioRecord with on-device FFT-based processing. A foreground service supports continuous overnight monitoring.

Snore Detector is an open-source Android Health & Fitness app for Android 7.0 and later, supporting arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 devices. The current 1.1.0 release is the initial release.
