About

Stochastic Reminder is an open-source Android application for creating scheduled reminders. It is intended for people who need notifications on selected weekdays, either at a specific time or within a defined time range. Each reminder can include a title and a long-form, multiline message for carrying detailed information.

Schedules can be assigned to individual weekdays and configured with either a fixed notification time or a range from which the notification time is selected randomly. Non-muted notifications use exact alarms, while muted notifications use a battery-preserving scheduling method. Users can choose sound, vibration, both, or no alert for each notification.

Notifications from the same reminder can be grouped to reduce clutter in the notification area. The application includes localizations for French, Italian, Spanish, and German. These features support recurring planning while allowing the content and alert behavior of each reminder to be adjusted separately.

Stochastic Reminder is listed in the Productivity category and fits the Alarm Clock category because it focuses on scheduled and time-range notifications. Its open-source license indicates that it is distributed under an open development model. MirrorNest stores the official Android build directly on its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing, giving catalog users access to that build through MirrorNest’s distribution process.
