Tjoeke

Tjoeke is an open-source Android app for checking upcoming train departures in the Netherlands. It is designed for people who regularly travel between the same two stations. Choose a starting station and a destination to view the next departures in both directions on one screen. This places the app in the Navigation & Travel category.

Stations can be found through a search field with autocomplete. An Intercity-only filter narrows the displayed services, while an indicator shows whether off-peak (daluren) discount conditions apply. Tjoeke refreshes departure information automatically every two minutes. It offers light, dark, and high-contrast themes, with the latter suited to e-ink displays.

The app uses the NS Dutch Railways API through a lightweight proxy. It does not require an account and includes no tracking or advertisements. Tjoeke is a small app with only internet access as a permission. MirrorNest stores the official Android build directly on its own infrastructure and scans it for malware before publishing.
