Tryst

Tryst is an open-source Android journal for recording and reviewing intimate-life experiences on the phone. It is intended for people who want to keep personal entries, partner information, reflections, and related photos in a private local space. The app requires no account or sign-up, provides no synchronization, and does not use internet access.

Privacy is built into its storage and access model. Tryst declares no INTERNET permission and includes no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs, while entries are kept in an encrypted SQLCipher database and attached photos are encrypted in the app’s private storage. A separate six-digit app PIN protects the journal, with optional biometric unlocking, automatic locking when the app leaves the screen, and blocked screenshots and app-switcher previews. The app is excluded from cloud auto-backup, and data can be moved only through its manual, password-encrypted export.

Entries can include details such as date and time, duration, partners, acts, positions, protection, mood, setting, occasion, toys, satisfaction, orgasms, notes, and encrypted photo attachments. Users can create their own acts, kinks, positions, toys, occasions, and finish locations, with those additions included in Insights and Achievements. Partners may be named or anonymous, and the history can be searched by note, partner, or category and filtered by date, partner, place, mood, protection, duration, and other available details. A dedicated Photos tab collects attached images along with per-partner and self-portrait albums, offering date-grid, mosaic, by-partner, People, and feed layouts, plus search, filters, favourites, bulk actions, and slideshow viewing.
