Capture readings from a Zypher HxM heart rate monitor on an Android device and write them directly to a text file with ZephyrLogger. The resulting log provides a durable record of heart rate measurements that can be examined beyond the monitor’s live display.

The app connects to the Zypher HxM and records the data it receives as plain text, producing a file suited to later inspection or processing. This is useful for athletes tracking workouts, researchers collecting physiological observations, and anyone studying heart-rate behavior in depth. Rather than limiting the information to a momentary reading, ZephyrLogger preserves the monitor’s data for detailed analysis.

ZephyrLogger runs on Android devices and uses Universal architecture. It is open-source and is currently at version 1.0. Using it requires a Zypher HxM heart rate monitor, which supplies the measurements the app records. The software fits exercise sessions, repeated measurements, and experiments where a text-based history is more useful than a live display.
