ActiveDock replaces Apple’s Dock and Launchpad with a customizable dock that launches applications, opens documents and links, and switches between running apps. Its Window Previews panel shows open windows so you can find the right one quickly, switch between windows, and bring a selected window to the front. Window Management lets you arrange windows directly from those previews, making it easier to work with many applications at once.

Groups and Folders organize applications, documents, and other items by topics such as design, development, or copywriting. Folder Views place selected files in the Dock, while the customizable Start Menu provides another route to applications, files, and folders. These organizational features reduce Dock clutter and keep frequently used items together.

Custom themes change the Dock’s appearance, and custom icons can be assigned to applications and folders to make them easier to recognize. You can also adjust the Dock’s appearance and hide application icons so only the items you want remain visible. Despite these additions, ActiveDock is designed to look and behave like Apple’s Dock, reducing the adjustment required for existing Mac users.

ActiveDock is freeware System Tools software for macOS, with current version 2.884, intended for people who want an application launcher and Dock replacement for everyday multitasking. It requires macOS 14.6 Sonoma or later, and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, including full support for macOS 26 Tahoe and Apple Silicon generations M1 through M5.
