About

AIMP plays audio files on a Windows computer, giving listeners a focused way to hear their music rather than manage every aspect of an audio collection. Its core task is playback, while cataloging, editing, and distributing audio files are outside its intended scope. Playlists let users arrange listening queues, and bookmarks can be sorted by creation date or title for quick returns to specific points.

The player can connect to Internet radio stations and provides an option to cancel a connection attempt that is taking too long. Its equalizer supports separate custom presets for each output device, while expanded fading controls help shape transitions between tracks. Optional smart-playlist updating, playlist thumbnails, and Music Library features such as pinned subfolders add organizational convenience without changing the program’s playback-centered design.

AIMP suits people listening at a desk, managing personal playlists, or switching between local tracks and online radio. Artem Izmaylov publishes it as freeware in the System Tools category for Windows; version 5.10.2418 is intended for x64 systems. The interface can be customized through skins, and playlist actions from the quick-launch toolbar can be undone, while the file manager supports specifying a protocol version for Windows shared folders.
