AllDup4.5.72

AllDup searches selected storage for duplicate files and lets you review, remove, or otherwise manage copies you no longer need. It can examine an unlimited number of files and folders, covering documents, pictures, music, movies, executables, and other file types, while also identifying files that are not duplicates in the locations you choose. This gives people a way to find repeated data across a computer before deciding what should remain.

Matching can be based on file content, name, extension, size, dates, file attributes, and hard-link information. Searches may include several specified folders, entire drives, media storage, and CD or DVD sources, with masks or size conditions available to exclude particular folders or individual files. Specialized search options cover digital photos, music and video, hard links, and MP3 files, including a setting that ignores ID3 tags.

Results appear in a search list where unnecessary duplicates can be selected automatically for review. Search results can be saved and restored later, while the built-in viewer previews many file formats before any files are changed. Selected items can go to the Recycle Bin, a separate backup folder, another chosen folder, or permanent deletion, and AllDup can copy or move them as part of the cleanup. It can also create shortcuts or hard links to the last original file, export results as TXT or CSV, and record actions in a detailed log.

Developed by Michael Thummerer Software Design, AllDup 4.5.72 is freeware for Windows and belongs to the System Tools category, serving home users and anyone organizing crowded folders, drives, or removable media.
