Altova StyleVision 2025 Basic Edition lets you create a single drag-and-drop report or form design and turn XML, XBRL, relational database, or SQL query data into formatted documents. The design can be published as HTML, PDF, Word, RTF, plain text, and eForms, supporting both web and print distribution. StyleVision also generates the corresponding XSLT or XSL:FO stylesheets, allowing one layout to drive multi-channel publishing.

Intelligent menus and entry-helper windows support visual stylesheet design, while conditional templates, automatic calculations, and rich input formatting handle more involved reporting rules. Table and chart wizards help build structured reports with graphs, and an existing Word document can serve as the starting point for a design. The tool supports XSLT 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0, along with an XPath 1.0, 2.0, and 3.1 expression builder and evaluator.

Typical uses include producing PDF invoices from XML orders, publishing XBRL financial information for stakeholders, generating monthly sales reports from a SQL database, and creating product catalogs for print and the web. Authentic forms can also collect equipment inspection data directly into XML while applying validation and formatting. Developed by Altova for Windows on x86 architecture, the current 2025.02.00.02 release improves PDF output by rendering radio buttons as circles and supplying default alternate text for checkbox and radio-button controls in XSL-FO.
