Altova UModel 2024 Enterprise Edition lets developers draw application designs as UML models and turn them into Java, C++, C#, or Visual Basic .NET source code and project documentation. This workflow gives development teams a visual specification to refine before implementation, helping keep the model and generated implementation connected. Altova publishes version 2024.02.01 for Windows on x64 systems, a deployment detail to account for before installation.

The software supports all 14 UML 2.5 software architecture diagram types, including use-case, class, and object diagrams. Use-case diagrams can capture requirements and define an application’s scope, while UML-style diagrams can represent XML Schemas and tables in popular SQL databases. It also includes database modeling, XML Schema modeling, all nine SysML diagrams, and business process modeling through BPMN.

A customizable visual workspace provides controls for diagram size, position, colors, typeface characteristics, and line styles, along with dedicated toolbars, color coding, icons, entry helpers, and fast editing buttons. UModel can reverse engineer existing programs into UML diagrams, letting teams enhance those models and regenerate source code as part of a round-trip engineering process. XMI model interchange and source-code engineering extend its use across software modeling and development workflows.
