About

Sketch application architecture in UML, then generate Java, C++, C#, or Visual Basic .NET source code and project documentation from the model. Altova UModel 2026 Enterprise Edition also reverse-engineers existing programs into UML diagrams, so teams can refine an established design and regenerate its implementation through a round-trip workflow.

The software supports all 14 UML 2.5 diagram types, along with database modeling for tables in popular SQL databases and XML Schema modeling. It also covers all nine SysML diagram types and BPMN business process modeling, extending its use beyond conventional application diagrams.

Code engineering connects visual designs with Java, C++, C#, and Visual Basic .NET projects, while XMI model interchange helps move models between compatible development workflows. Diagram work is aided by dedicated toolbars, color-coded icons, entry helpers, fast editing buttons, and controls for element size, position, color, typeface characteristics, and line styles. Architects and developers can use it to define requirements and application scope with use-case diagrams, document software structures, or bring legacy code into a model for revision.

Published by Altova for Windows on x64 architecture, the current version is 2026.02.00. Version 2026 updates database support and introduces additional new features, making the release relevant to teams whose models include database structures.
