Amazon Chime lets people meet online, exchange messages, and place business calls with colleagues or external contacts from one application. Meetings support HD video and audio, screen sharing, meeting chat, and dial-in numbers, while compatible in-room systems can provide video conferencing. Persistent chat and chat rooms keep conversations available across desktop and mobile devices after an individual meeting ends. From a chat, participants can start a voice or video call, form group conversations, and share files or images through meeting chat.

Administrators manage enterprise users, policies, single sign-on, and other advanced settings through the Amazon Chime management console. The service suits organizations coordinating remote teams, internal discussions, customer calls, and scheduled online meetings. A visual roster shows who is present, invited, late, has left, was dropped, or declined, and meeting controls allow attendees to be added, meeting details copied for invitations, or calls left. Audio controls display active speech, support dial-in or in-app audio, and let a participant mute another attendee who is creating unwanted noise.

The Windows client is x86 and requires an Amazon account, with a work email address used during account creation and email verification required; users also grant that account access to Amazon Chime. Before joining, a Device Preview window lets participants adjust audio and video settings, and cameras can be enabled during a call. Amazon Chime is published by Amazon.com Services LLC for Windows, with current version 5.23.32138.

AWS ended support for the Amazon Chime service on February 20, 2026, so it is now intended for special cases involving meeting access. This service-support change does not affect the availability of the Amazon Chime SDK.
