Amazon AppStream Client connects a Windows desktop to applications streamed through Amazon AppStream 2.0, providing secure and reliable access to cloud-delivered software. It gives organizations a managed way to deliver SaaS and web applications, or turn existing desktop programs into cloud services without rewriting or refactoring their code. AppStream 2.0 is administered through AWS, while its infrastructure is handled as a managed service and application capacity can scale for users around the world.

Multi-session support places multiple user sessions on one instance, helping use resources efficiently and avoid overprovisioning. The service streams Windows and Linux applications to devices and can provide GPU-backed performance for CAD/CAM, 3D modeling, GIS, video editing, and other graphics-heavy work. Users and AI agents receive isolated sessions governed by the same policies and security controls, and agents can interact with desktop applications.

The client suits ISVs converting desktop software to SaaS, enterprises serving distributed staff, educators running online learning over slow network conditions, and teams supporting training or software trials. Shared desktop pools can be assigned across user groups, scaled up or down with demand, and paired with selected compute, memory, storage, and desktop configurations. Desktop applications can be delivered without special hardware or installing those applications on each device, while auto-scaling helps avoid overprovisioning.
