Anonymous Pro

Set Anonymous Pro as the typeface in a coding environment to display source code with four fixed-width font designs. Each character occupies the same horizontal space, preserving the aligned columns and spacing conventions commonly used in programming. The family gives easily confused symbols distinct visual forms, including O and 0, I and l, and 1.

These differences make it easier to inspect code and spot a single character that could alter a statement’s meaning. Its Unicode character set covers most Western and European Latin-based languages, along with Greek and Cyrillic scripts. Box-drawing characters are included for text-based layouts that depend on lines, corners, and other framing elements.

Anonymous Pro is aimed at programmers and anyone who reads or writes source code on Windows, including people working with multilingual code or text layouts. Mark Simonson publishes the Windows font family, whose current version is 2014.12.31. It is offered as freeware.
