AnyTXT Searcher finds words and phrases inside documents, images, emails, and other files stored on a computer, returning the matching files for direct access. Its full-text search reaches beyond filenames and works as a local alternative to Google Desktop Search, with searches designed to be much faster than the built-in search and the findstr command. A document-parsing engine extracts text without additional software and combines it with a high-speed index that stores document metadata.

The parser handles plain text such as TXT, Java, and HTML, plus Outlook EML files in beta, Word DOC and DOCX, Excel XLS and XLSX, PowerPoint PPT and PPTX, scanned and regular PDF files, and OneNote ONE documents. It also reads MOBI, EPUB, AZW, DJVU, LaTeX, and other ebook formats; CHM, WPS, ET, DPS, AZW3, mind-map files, OFD, WizNote ZIW, and Edraw Max EDDX files. OCR searches text in PNG, JPG, BMP, and scanned PDF images, while EXE, DLL, and SO binary files are supported, with more document types planned.

It suits anyone who needs to retrieve a passage from a mixed document collection, locate information in archived messages, or find text hidden in scans and images. The current x64 Windows release from CBEWIN Tech Co. is version 1.3.2477 and supports Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022.

This version adds an indexing-progress display with details available on hover, support for RPM and DEB packages, and filename-based result filtering. It also fixes the OCR problem from version 1.3.2034 along with other known issues.
