About
Inspect a running mobile or other Appium-driven app by viewing its current screenshot, page source, and interactive controls in one graphical workspace. Appium Inspector connects to a separately installed Appium server and presents the application under test for visual examination. Users can search for elements, select them in the interface, and interact with the app to investigate locators and behavior.
The interface lets you enter Appium server connection details and execute driver commands without writing a client script for every check. Its resizable screenshot panel can be adjusted to fit the workspace, while the source tree can be configured to show the element attributes most useful to the inspection. A gesture editor supports drag-and-drop reordering of gesture ticks for refining touch interactions.
Driver- and device-specific header controls add UiAutomator2 and Espresso session actions, along with XCUITest controls for iOS, tvOS, and watchOS, including watchOS gestures and Digital Crown operations. Integrations with various cloud service providers are built in, although a provider may be removed if it stops working properly with the Inspector. QA engineers, mobile developers, and automation specialists can use it to examine app hierarchies, test commands, and diagnose locator or interaction behavior.
Appium Inspector is published by Appium Developers as an open-source x64 Windows application, with a standalone desktop format and an Appium server plugin format. It supports Windows 10 and later plus Windows Server 2016 and later, and its server-based workflow requires the separately installed Appium server. Version 2026.9.2 is identical to 2026.9.1 for plugin users except for a single development-dependency update.
Requires Windows 10+ · Server 2016+ · Architecture: x64
