Run Apple II software, games, and disk-based programs on a Windows PC through AppleWin’s emulation of the original computer family. It supports multiple Apple II models and clones, including Pravets, TK3000, and Base 64, along with NTSC and RGB display modes. An extensive built-in symbolic debugger lets developers inspect and control program execution while investigating vintage software or developing new code.

Its emulated hardware includes Mockingboard, Phasor, and SAM sound cards; the Disk II floppy interface; the Super Serial Card; the Apple IIe Extended 80-Column Text Card; RamWorks III with 16MB; Apple and Le Chat Mauve Féline RGB cards; Uthernet I and II; Language Card and Saturn memory cards; 4Play and SNES MAX joystick cards; the VidHD card; No Slot Clock; and Game I/O Connector copy-protection dongles. VidHD support is limited to the IIgs Super Hi-Res video modes, while //c, //c+, Laser 128, Laser 128EX, Laser 128EX2, and Apple IIgs emulation are not supported. This makes it useful for Apple II enthusiasts, preservation work, testing software across hardware configurations, and programmers debugging 8-bit applications.

AppleWin 1.32.1.0 is open-source software for Windows with neutral architecture; Windows XP is supported through 1.30.21.0, Windows 2000 through 1.29.16.0, and Windows 98/ME through 1.25.0.4.

The current release adds configuration-GUI and save-state support for the Shift Key Mod, introduces the -ssc-tcp-port option for changing the default TCP port, and improves incompatible-audio-device warnings by naming the device. It also corrects disconnected-joystick floating inputs, Saturn interference with the slot 0 language card, mouse-as-joystick startup behavior, Super Serial Card configuration cancellation, hard-disk-image unplugging, and displayed path formatting.
