Applite lets Mac users search for, install, update, and remove applications through a graphical interface for Homebrew rather than a command line. Its catalogue brings thousands of Mac apps together, including many that have never appeared in the App Store. Users can browse by category or search by name to find the software they want.

A single click installs an app without dragging it into the Applications folder or working through installer windows. The Update All command refreshes every managed app from one place. When setting up a new Mac, users can export an app list from an older Mac, select the items to keep, and install them together. Applite can also remove an application along with its settings and support files, instead of leaving those remnants behind in the Bin.

Homebrew performs the app installation, while Applite includes its own copy and configures it quietly in the background the first time the program opens. It needs nothing installed beforehand, so it can serve as an initial app on a new Mac, and it suits people who want Homebrew’s software catalogue without learning its command-line workflow. Apple signs and notarises the application before it runs, and Applite has no accounts, analytics, or telemetry.

Version 1.4.2 requires macOS 14 Sonoma or newer and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. Applite is freeware under the MIT license.
