About
Apps2Samsung installs applications on Samsung Smart TVs, projectors, and smart monitors running Tizen, putting media players, game-streaming clients, and other community software on the big screen. It accepts personal WGT or TPK packages as well, including native TPK applications rather than only web-based WGT apps, and succeeds Jellyfin2Samsung.
The software discovers compatible devices, handles Tizen certificates, and carries out installation from the computer. Its collection includes more than 110 community apps, such as Jellyfin, Moonlight, Moonfin, Litefin, TizenTube, Chiaki, RetroArch, and Steam Link, along with Jellyfin variants for newer and older sets. Users can stream from Sunshine or NVIDIA GameStream, play through PlayStation Remote Play, watch YouTube with SponsorBlock support, cast through FCast or Beam-TV, play USB and DLNA media, and view RTSP camera feeds.
The open-source Windows edition supports x64 systems running Windows 8 or later and Server 2012 or later. It suits TV owners managing a home media server, streaming PC games, testing Tizen software, or maintaining their own builds without relying on Tizen Studio; Jellyfin and Emby clients include Enact-based and lightweight options for legacy hardware.
Version 3.1 fixes an Android launch freeze affecting phones with animations disabled and improves messages while arming TV-Store. Its On the TV view now opens an installed app’s update page, shows the version currently on the TV, and sorts installed apps by size, name, or newest installation across Android, iPhone, and desktop, while available updates remain first.
Requires Windows 8+ · Server 2012+ · Architecture: x64
What's new in v3.1.0
Apps2Samsung 3.1 The first update after 3.0: a fix for the Android app hanging at launch on some phones, a better update flow and sorting in On the TV, and clearer messages when arming TV-Store. ✨ Highlights 🤖 Android: no more hang at launch On phones with animations switched off (Developer options › Animator duration scale, or Samsung's "Remove animations"), every 3.x build froze within seconds and Android reported "Apps2Samsung isn't responding". The TV card's busy light was the cause: with animations off, each fade finished instantly and the pulse loop never let go of the screen. It now keeps its rhythm whether or not the phone animates. (#899) 🔄 On the TV: Update opens the app Update on an installed app now opens that app's sheet, with Update on {TV} as the button and the version the TV runs underneath. Before, it only switched to the Install tab, and on Android the request got lost on the way. Installed apps that are in the catalog get a View in catalog row. (#888) ↕️ On the TV: sort it your way Sort by Size, Name or Newest installed from the ⋯ menu, on Android, iPhone and desktop. Apps with an update available always come first, whichever order you pick, and the choice is remembered. (#888) 📺 Arm TV-Store: honest messages When the TV can't be reached while arming, Apps2Samsung now says so and points at Developer Mode, instead of claiming TV-Store isn't installed and sending you to the catalog. A TV that still has the old TV-Store from before 0.3.5 is told to update it. The arming texts now spell out the Host PC IP order: this device's IP while arming, then the TV's own address. (#889) 🐞 Easier bug reports One bug report form for every platform, with the log steps for the platform you pick, and automatic labels for the platform and Tizen version. 📥 Downloads ────────────────┬────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Platform │File ────────────────┼────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── 🪟 Windows │win-x64.zip ────────────────┼────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── 🍎 macOS │.dmg or .tar.gz, Apple Silicon (arm64) and Intel (x64) ────────────────┼────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── 🐧 Linux │.AppImage, .deb, .rpm, .tar.gz (x64 and ARM64) ────────────────┼────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── 🤖 Android │-android.apk, or auto-updating through Obtainium and F-Droid ────────────────┼────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── 🍏 iPhone (beta)│-ios-unsigned.ipa, or the SideStore source (see the README) ────────────────┼────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── ⌨️ Command line │Apps2Samsung-cli-v3.1.0-<platform> for Windows, macOS and Linux, x64 and ARM64 ────────────────┴────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── 🌍 Available in 30 languages, thanks to everyone translating on Crowdin. 📋 Every change since 3.0.0 🚀 New features - TV-Store: write the TV's IP in place of loopback at install (#884) - On the TV: sort by size, name or install date, updates on top (#888) (#892) - Desktop On the TV: sort by size, name or install date (#888) (#898) 🐛 Bug fixes - Arm TV-Store: a failed app listing is not "not installed" (#889), version 3.1.0 (#890) - On the TV: Update opens the app's sheet, Update button, View in catalog (#888) (#891) - fix(mobile): pace the TV card LED pulse so animations-off phones don't hang (#899) (#903) 🌍 Translations - i18n: new translations from Crowdin (#897) 🧰 Maintenance & CI - CI: /no-logs command to waive the log requirement on bug reports (#900) - CI: one bug report form for every head, with per-head log steps (#901) - Issue templates: set issue type Bug / Feature (#902) Full Changelog: v3.0.0...v3.1.0 🛡️ Security Notice Antivirus warnings may occur and are likely false positives.
