The app interprets GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, LTE, LTE+, and both 5G NSA and 5G SA connections. Its display is aimed at people examining how a phone is connected, including network analysts, technically minded users, and anyone diagnosing mobile coverage in the field. Atalaya can help when comparing reception around a site or identifying which serving antenna a device is using.

For deeper processing, it uses the NetMonster Core library alongside Android’s native TelephonyManager APIs, extracting cell details that those APIs do not usually expose. That processing can infer LTE-Advanced carrier aggregation and distinguish 5G standalone from non-standalone service, but those inferences may be inaccurate. Results can also differ across network types and device models, so readings are best treated as technical observations rather than guaranteed measurements.
