About

AudioOutput converts data captured in LabChart into audible playback, so users can hear signals that would otherwise be examined as traces. It can play the signal while data is being collected in real time or replay it after the recording has finished. This gives LabChart users an additional way to experience information represented in their recordings alongside the program’s visual display.

Typical uses include listening to heart sounds, animal sounds, voice recordings, and action potential spikes. These examples span physiological measurements, animal signals, voice data, and electrical events, making the extension useful for different kinds of biological and recorded signals. By adding sound to the analysis workflow, AudioOutput helps users hear information contained in data rather than relying exclusively on visual inspection.

ADInstruments publishes AudioOutput as an x86 extension for LabChart for Windows, making it relevant to users whose recording and analysis work is based in that environment. The current version, 2.3.0400, includes improvements to the autogain feature compared with the previous release.
