AWS IAM Authenticator0.7.24

Authenticate to a Kubernetes cluster on Windows with AWS IAM credentials using AWS IAM Authenticator for Kubernetes. It is intended for Kubernetes environments running on AWS, where IAM credentials already support cluster provisioning and updates.

The authenticator uses an existing AWS identity as the basis for Kubernetes access instead of requiring a separate Kubernetes credential. It can provide an audit trail through AWS CloudTrail and support IAM controls such as two-factor or multifactor authentication.

When building or installing a cluster on AWS, an installer can create a dedicated KubernetesAdmin role during provisioning and configure the authenticator to allow administrator logins through that role. This can reduce the need to transfer an initial administrator credential out of a newly installed cluster.

Initially driven by Heptio, the project receives community contributions and is maintained by Heptio and Amazon EKS OSS Engineers. The current version is 0.7.24.
