AZERTYGlobal1.1.0.0

AZERTYGlobal lets French AZERTY users type É, Ç, À and other accented capitals without abandoning familiar key positions. Caps Lock combined with the existing é key produces É, while dead keys provide accents such as á, í, ó, ñ, ã, ä, ö, ü, ß, ì, ò, ø and å.

The layout keeps 99% of established keystrokes intact: letters, numbers and most symbols remain where French AZERTY users expect them. Its five practical adjustments add Smart Caps Lock behavior, direct period access, @ and # on the upper-left key, programming symbols on the home row, and broader international accent support.

That combination serves people living in France who write proper French, switch between languages, or program with an AZERTY keyboard; the accent system covers characters used by more than 200 languages, including Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, Nordic, Polish, Czech, Turkish, Wolof and Yoruba. It works with an existing French AZERTY keyboard rather than requiring a new keyboard.

The project is developed and distributed by the Association pour la Modernisation du Clavier Français, a French nonprofit association under loi 1901. Version 1.1.0.0 adds fully local usage statistics, clearer error messages, and a complete English interface with a language selector.
