About

Batch RegEx lets you search, replace, substitute, format, and extract text across multiple files with regular expressions. Its GREP-style operations work with Unicode and can handle recurring edits or data extraction tasks that would be tedious to perform file by file. Built-in regular-expression editors provide syntax coloring and contextual tooltips, while dedicated helpers for HTML and XML tags, lines, and numbers speed up pattern construction.

The integrated RegEx Builder tests expressions against sample text, highlights matches, and performs search-and-replace checks before batch processing. It also provides transformations for changing case, trimming or reversing characters, sorting or shuffling lists, removing duplicates, calculating hashes, encrypting or decrypting text, encoding or decoding URLs, converting Morse code, and escaping or unescaping strings. Matched text can be handled as numbers for number-oriented operations.

Published by BinaryMark for Windows, this System Tools utility is suited to developers, administrators, and data-processing users working with large collections of text, source, markup, or log files. Version 5.0 can use multiple CPU cores and run jobs manually, continuously, when triggered, on a schedule, or from the console; it can also be launched from Windows Explorer’s right-click menu. Advanced file selection filters by names, dates, sizes, or contents using regular expressions and advanced wildcards.

Processing can merge, split, or zip files, apply conditional branches with different operations, and run multiple program instances concurrently. Results can go to an absolute or relative output directory, retaining original names or applying a naming mask, with details shown in the interface and saved to log files. The demo trial is fully functional but limits the size of files it processes.
