Battery Buddy1.0.4

Battery Buddy replaces macOS’s default battery indicator in the menu bar with a cute alternative, letting you check battery status from the same familiar location. Created by Neil Sardesai, it is aimed at Mac users who want that everyday system display to have a more personable appearance.

Its practical role is a menu-bar status display, making it suitable for people who want a quick battery glance while working, studying, or moving between locations. Battery Buddy does not collect user data, and its network activity is limited to checking for and downloading app updates. Outside those update checks, it never connects to the internet.

Current version 1.0.4 requires macOS 11.0 or newer and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon architecture. It is freeware, and the developer’s own testing has been limited to a MacBook Pro. On a Mac without a battery, the developer does not know how it will behave; it may do something unexpected or simply crash. Feature requests can be sent by email or through Mastodon.
