BetterTouchTool lets you reshape how a Mac responds to trackpad gestures, mouse buttons, keyboard shortcuts, menu-bar controls, and Stream Deck input. Map gestures on a MacBook trackpad, Magic Trackpad, or Magic Mouse to actions such as middle-clicking, switching desktops, showing a clipboard manager, hiding an app, or snapping a window to an edge. Draw a custom shape such as a “C” to open Calendar, or assign a five-finger tap to toggle full-screen mode.

The software provides more than 600 triggers and more than 600 built-in actions, which can be linked into multi-step automations. Mouse users can configure multi-button chords, button-and-scroll combinations, modifier-and-button presses, custom shapes, and Logitech controls without extra drivers, including trackpad-like scrolling with scroll modifiers. Its automation agents work with OpenAI, Anthropic, local models, and other services, with separate instructions for each app, while also handling file sorting, renaming, and organization.

Typical uses include running repetitive tasks from one trigger, creating custom presets, plugins, and widgets, summarizing a page, document, or selected text, and performing reusable commands such as renaming pictures by their contents or improving selected text. A fast launcher can search apps, windows, files, actions, and calendar events, calculate, browse the clipboard, and run any trigger; several launchers can operate in parallel with individually pinned items.
