bicyweather1.0.20

Check current conditions and a seven-day forecast for German cities and selected European locations with bicyweather. It draws on observations and forecasts from many German Weather Service (DWD) stations, along with some European stations, to present the day’s weather in a compact view. The clearly arranged main screen is designed for quickly readable forecast information.

Each forecast shows minimum and maximum temperatures plus weather icons for 9 a.m., noon, 3 p.m., and 6 p.m.; hourly raw data is also available, while those four times form the fixed display. Because the setup cannot select every city, an integrated map of nearby German weather stations helps you find and choose an appropriate location. The most recent forecast is saved in a database file, so it remains viewable offline.

Tapping Update retrieves two small files from the DWD server—one for forecasts and one for current weather—totalling about 370 kB including the uncompressed data, and stores them in Android’s internal storage. The app evaluates the selected location’s data and separates temperature ranges and weather conditions for its presentation, using data sourced directly from opendata.dwd.de.

bicyweather suits travelers, commuters, and anyone checking conditions around German weather stations without a crowded forecast interface. Version 1.0.20 runs on Android 9 or later with Universal architecture and is open-source; development contributions are coordinated through GitHub, which requires an account for contributors.
