About

From a PC, Bonjour Print Services discovers Bonjour-enabled printers and helps configure them through the Bonjour Printer Wizard. Apple Inc.’s Bonjour Print Services 2.0.2.0 is x64 software for Windows, intended for workstations that need to use printers announced through Bonjour. It suits mixed-device homes, offices, and classrooms where printing equipment may be connected to different types of computers or networks.

The service works with network printers connected over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and with USB printers shared through a Mac or an AirPort base station. Bonjour exchanges network packets through UDP port 5353, so a separate personal firewall must permit traffic on that port for printer discovery and configuration to function. On supported systems, the Bonjour installer configures the Windows firewall appropriately, while another enabled personal firewall may require its own UDP 5353 rule. The Bonjour Printer Wizard is placed in \Program Files\Bonjour Print Services, and the software creates a desktop shortcut for it.

Bonjour Print Services supports Windows XP Service Pack 2 and later, with Windows XP Service Pack 3 or Windows Vista Service Pack 2 recommended. Apple also recommends using Windows Update to keep the computer’s latest service pack installed, making those service-pack levels important considerations before deployment.
