Bria lets you place and receive voice and video calls from a Mac, turning an existing VoIP service or call server into a desktop phone. It handles both inbound and outbound calling and includes call-control features for managing conversations from one interface. By connecting to existing IP-PBX infrastructure, it can give remote workers access to their phone lines, contacts, and video conferencing while away from the office.

The softphone combines calling with contact management, letting users bring together address books from Google, Microsoft Outlook, and iOS or Android contacts. Up to five VoIP service or call-server accounts can be integrated through the provider’s paid access, with account settings managed from the cloud after the initial configuration. A Bria Desktop API is also available for application customization, although that integration is limited to the paid version.

Bria suits individuals, remote employees, and small teams moving from conventional telephony to Voice over IP, particularly when calls and contacts must remain available across locations. Its companion mobile editions extend the same softphone approach beyond the desktop, while the Mac application provides the central workspace for everyday calling.

On macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Bria runs on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs and is distributed as freeware. The current release is 6.8.8,131080.
