Buckets0.80.0

Buckets helps you build a personal budget, assign money to spending categories, and see how planned funds are being used. Its envelope-budgeting approach can be adapted to a different budgeting style when that better matches your finances.

Your financial information remains stored on your computer, giving you direct control over the data. Helpful budgeting videos explain the method, while the developer offers support through its chat bubble for questions about using the program. The interface is multilingual, with Dansk, Deutsch, Eesti, English, Español, Français, Italiano, Magyar, Nederlands, Norsk, Polski, Português, Română, Svenska, Türkçe, čeština, Български, Русский, Українська, עִברִית, العربية, and 한국어 available.

Buckets is suited to individuals organizing household spending, planning recurring expenses, or trying envelope budgeting for the first time. It runs on MacOS and is categorized under Finance & Shopping; version 0.80.0 is freeware for Apple Silicon (arm64) Macs.

The developer describes an untimed free trial that lasts as long as you need to decide if it fits your approach, and presents Buckets as a long-term project rather than a short-lived startup. Its combination of local financial data, adaptable budgeting methods, instructional material, and direct support distinguishes it from a simple worksheet-based budget.
