C Evo

C Evo lets you guide an empire through several thousand years, making long-term decisions about how its society develops and competes with other states. You shape expansion through exploration and settlement, then manage the industry and agriculture that support production and internal growth. Warfare and diplomacy govern military conflicts and relations with rival powers, while science and administration handle research and the changing demands of governing a larger empire.

Play proceeds in turns, so each phase is built around deliberate strategic choices rather than real-time reactions. The design draws on the style of popular turn-based strategy games from the mid-1990s, while placing particular weight on capable computer opponents and carefully constructed rules. As a result, the artificial intelligence and the challenge created by rival empires remain central to each campaign.

C Evo is published by Stephen Gerlach as freeware for Windows users interested in historically broad empire-building strategy. It suits players who enjoy extended campaigns in which exploration, economic development, government, research, diplomacy, and war interact across changing eras. The current release is version 1.2.0, and its distribution connects directly with the official release so users can reach the original source. The freeware terms allow the game to be obtained and used without purchasing it.
